Accessibility Statement
Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-10-01 · Last updated 2026-10-01
Honistee wants everyone to be able to read this site, understand how we work, and start a conversation. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and to keep improving toward that target.
1. Our commitment
Accessibility is part of how this site is built, not an afterthought. We design for keyboard navigation, screen readers, sufficient color contrast, text that scales without breaking the layout, and predictable, low-motion interaction.
2. What we have done
This site was rebuilt in October 2026 with accessibility as part of the build standard. The previous version's full-screen loading animation and animated 3D background were retired, not carried over. The current site uses:
- Semantic HTML with a proper heading order, landmarks, named sections, and lists.
- Keyboard-operable navigation and controls, a skip-to-content link, and visible focus states that are never hidden behind fixed elements. The mobile menu traps focus while open and returns it when closed.
- Color contrast targeted at WCAG AA: at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and interface components. Our amber accent is used for text only at sizes and shades that meet the threshold; links are underlined, not distinguished by color alone.
- Respect for your "reduce motion" system setting: the slow background field of amber and mint points holds still as a single frame, the hero glow stops, scroll-reveal and menu transitions are disabled, and no content depends on animation. The background never blocks the page from loading and is skipped entirely when your browser asks us to save data.
- Interactive targets sized to at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, and no action that requires a drag gesture.
- A contact form with visible labels, text error messages, a status region that is announced to screen readers, and no CAPTCHA.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Statistics rendered as static text, so screen readers and search engines read the real numbers rather than an animated counter.
- A short loading animation (about two seconds on the first visit of a session, under one second after that) plays over the page while the brain mark assembles. It is skipped when your "reduce motion" setting is on, it never waits on the network for more than four seconds, and it is announced to screen readers as a status.
- There is currently no video on this site.
3. Known limitations
- Booking pages are hosted by our scheduling provider (GoHighLevel). We chose a provider with a published accessibility commitment, but we do not control every element of that frame. If it blocks you, email sales@honistee.com and we will book the call by hand.
- Credential badges on the About page are images served by the credential provider; each carries a text alternative and links to the full certificate.
- Windows screen readers (NVDA, JAWS) have not yet been tested — see section 4.
If we find a limitation after publication, we will list it here with a target date for the fix.
4. Browsers and assistive technology
The site is built and checked against current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, and with VoiceOver on macOS. We have not yet tested with a Windows screen reader; that is a gap we are naming rather than implying, and it is on our list.
5. Conformance and checks
Automated checks (axe-core) run against every page before a major site change; any serious or critical issue blocks the release until it is fixed. A manual keyboard pass covers navigation, the contact form, the booking links, and the referral booking frame. We have not commissioned a third-party audit at this version.
6. Feedback
If any part of this site is hard to use, email danny@honistee.com with the page address and what happened. We acknowledge accessibility reports within five business days and will tell you what we are doing about it. If you need information from this site in another format, ask and we will provide it.
